Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control, large text or a magnifier. It aims to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA.
Last updated 9 October 2026
What we have done
- Body text is 18 pixels or larger, with strong colour contrast.
- Phone numbers, the address and opening hours are real text, so a screen reader can read them and you can tap to call.
- Every page works with a keyboard and shows where you are, with a “skip to the main content” link.
- Our quote forms have labels, plain error messages, and large buttons. They also tell you what happens next.
- Images have text descriptions.
- Only one thing moves on its own: the line of insurer logos drifts slowly. It stops while your mouse or keyboard is on it, has a Pause button, and stays still if your device is set to reduce motion. Other small effects switch off then too.
- Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels tall on phones.
- All answers are visible on the page, with no hidden accordions.
How we tested it
On 9 October 2026 we checked every page with automated tests, keyboard-only use, zoom to 200 percent, and screens 320 and 390 pixels wide.
What is not perfect yet
- The comparison table on “What to cover” scrolls sideways on small phones.
- Some older news posts were written for the old website and may use long paragraphs and emoji.
We may have missed something. Please tell us if you find a problem.
